Two weddings and a journey ...



December 15 was an eventful day - Anirudh Garg and Shayon Mitra tied the nuptials to their better halves respectively. Both events took place in Hyderabad. The Gargster's wedding was at a resort outside Hyderabad called Alankrita. Amongst the ones who made the expedition to Hyd were Ajeet, Chobs, Girish, and Avinash.

We left from Bangalore on the night of December 14. I'd never been in a *Volvo* bus, and its a much smoother ride than the usual fare I knew from college days. Our journey was interspersed with a brief stop at Kalasipalya where Ajeet downed a quarter of Smirnoff's best, while we did justice to another. All in all, it was good fortification for what lay ahead...

I find watching any recent Telugu movie a trying experience at best, but a Telugu movie in the confined environs of a moving bus is something only Smirnoff and bunch of old friends can fight off ! Girish did watch the movie (inspite of not knowing Telugu !!) but was robbed of the ending when the screening stopped all of a sudden. I'm not complaining !!

We got to Hyd early on 15th morning, and got off at Paradise . Paradise is an institution of sorts in Secunderabad, and many a generation has sipped chai and had a smoke in its walls. We paid our tribute to this fine establishment while we waited for transport to Changu's wedding.

Its now almost 6 months since the event, and while memory fades, I have recollections of Garg grandeur and hospitality, lots of friends meeting up, dancing in a pugri in front of Changu's ghodi, and finally, of myself and Ajeet going to Shayon's reception at the Grand Kakatiya in our pugris... :-) Pics do a better job than I ..



Changu had some nifty mehndi work on his palms. Apparently, Nupur's name was hidden somewhere in the maze and he was supposed to find out. Or was it the otherway round ?



The much awaited horse ! He had his fill of cereal and other such nourishing soul food before accepting the Changmeister on his back...
